More global and local acts coming to Newport World Resorts

From global pop tributes to world-class Filipino acts, Newport World Resorts is stacking its entertainment offering with a mix of local and international acts. The country’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destination is rolling out a mid-year concert calendar lined with outstanding productions for the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT).

The upcoming lineup includes Nina’s anniversary concert Nina XX on May 9, A Sitti Anniversary Concert: 20 Years of Para Sa Akin on May 17, ABBA Revisited on May 20, and a tribute to composer George Canseco on June 13. The series continues into July with Kyla’s solo concert Hanggang Ngayon: The Timeless Music of Kyla on July 3.

On May 9, 8PM, Nina will headline Nina XX, a sold-out concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of her album Nina Live!.

Known as the “Diamond Soul Siren,” Nina is one of the Philippines’ most successful R&B and pop artists, with multiple platinum and diamond-certified releases. Originally released in 2005, Nina Live! became one of the best-selling albums in the country and is recognized for its stripped-down, live-session format featuring hits such as “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways,” “Through the Fire,” and “I Love You Goodbye.” The concert will feature songs from the album, along with other hits, and will include guest appearances by Jay Durias, Thor, and Kris Lawrence.

A Sitti Anniversary Concert: 20 Years of Para Sa Akin

Bossa Nova queen Sitti celebrates two decades of her hit single "Para Sa Akin" with a milestone concert dubbed “A Sitti Anniversary Concert: 20 Years of Para Sa Akin” on May 17, 7:30 PM. Joining her onstage are special guests Gary Valenciano, Ebe Dancel, Ice Seguerra, Jason Dhakal, Nyoy Violante, Princess Velasco, Richard Poon, and RJ Jacinto.

Often referred to as the Philippines’ “Queen of Bossa Nova,” Sitti gained prominence in the mid-2000s for popularizing the genre locally through hits such as “Para sa Akin” and her interpretations of international songs. The show is designed as an intimate performance focused on mood and storytelling, with a setlist that reflects her signature style and explores themes of romance and reflection.

ABBA Revisited

Sold out ahead of its Manila stop, ABBA Revisited takes over the NPAT stage on May 20 at 8 PM, giving Filipino fans a full-house night of dancing, singing, and reliving the group’s greatest hits.

The group is known as one of North America’s leading ABBA tribute acts, performing internationally since the early 2000s. Their shows recreate the sound and style of the Swedish pop group, whose catalog, including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Take a Chance on Me,” remains widely popular across generations. The performance will feature a setlist centered on ABBA’s best-known hits.

Ngayon at Kailanman: The Music of Canseco

The music of George Canseco takes center stage on June 13 at the NPAT, with a lineup of OPM heavyweights revisiting his most enduring hits.

Canseco is regarded as one of the most influential composers in OPM history, having written enduring classics such as “Ngayon at Kailanman” and “Ikaw.” The concert will feature performances by Basil Valdez, Kuh Ledesma, Leah Navarro, Dulce, JONA, Mark Bautista, and Rita Daniela, artists known for their contributions to OPM across different eras, performing some of his best-known compositions.

Hanggang Ngayon: The Timeless Music of Kyla

OPM singer Kyla is bringing her signature R&B sound back to the spotlight this July with “Hanggang Ngayon: The Timeless Music of Kyla,” a one-night concert packed with hits and powerhouse vocals.

Kyla, widely known as the “Queen of R&B” in the Philippines, rose to prominence in the early 2000s with hits such as “Hanggang Ngayon” and “Buti Na Lang.” Known for her vocal control and signature R&B style, she remains one of the country’s most recognizable female artists. The one-night concert will showcase her catalog of hits and will be directed by John Prats, with musical direction by Jem Florendo.
