32 bars of a song from your favorite musical.
Minus one track for playback. No pianist will be provided for the auditions.
Bring your latest CV, 3R-sized headshot, and full body shot.
Be prepared to fill out a registration form.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULES:
Shrek the Musical begins rehearsals on August 18, 2025, every 2 PM – 9 PM (until 11 PM on tech week).
Performances will run from October – December 2025.
PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION if you will have conflicting schedules.

A big, green ogre who prefers solitude in his swamp until an unexpected quest changes his life.
PRINCESS FIONA
Female • 20 – 30 years old

A spirited and unconventional princess with a surprising secret.
DONKEY
Male • 20 – 35 years old
Vocal range: C3 – B4
A fast-talking, endlessly enthusiastic sidekick who refuses to be ignored.
LORD FARQUAAD
Male • 30 – 45 years old
Vocal range: B2 – D5
The comically tiny, ruthless ruler of Duloc with a vendetta against fairytale creatures.
Doubles as GUARD and KNIGHT.
DRAGON
Female • 25 – 45 years old
Vocal range: F3 – Eb5
A fierce and fabulous guardian of Fiona’s tower. Doubles as MAMA BEAR and DULOC PERFORMER.
GINGY
Female • 20 – 40 years old
Vocal range: B3 – C#5
A witty gingerbread man held captive by Lord Farquaad. Doubles as WICKED WITCH and BLUEBIRD. Character is operated as a puppet.
PINOCCHIO
Male • 20 – 40 years old
Vocal range: E3 – F#4
The wooden puppet leader of the fairytale creatures, with a growing nose and plenty of sass. Doubles as DULOC PERFORMER and KNIGHT.
WOLF
Male • 20 – 40 years old
Vocal range: E3 – F#4
A famous fairytale adversary. Doubles as THELONIUS, DULOC PERFORMER, KNIGHT, BISHOP, and GRUMPY DWARF.
ENSEMBLE
Male and Female • 20 – 35 years old
Must be able to sing and dance.
To play the roles of the fairytale creatures: Three Little Pigs, White Rabbit, Fairy Godmother, Peter Pan, Wicked Witch, Ugly Duckling, Three Bears, Mad Hatter, Humpty Dumpty, Elf, Dwarf, Three Blind Mice), Angry Mob, Happy People, Guards, Knights, and Rats
